Topic: resize partition

Excuse  me. I'm novice in Linux. I've tried to resize de size of the my window's partition and move Mb to my linux partition. I'm following the next steps :


dismount my windows partition
free space

then I try to dismount my linux partition, but this is not possible

Somebody could help me, and explain the steps to move space from a windows partition to a linux partition with the partition editor

Which Gparted version did you use for this?

You can't resize the working linux partition with the installed version, you need to use the livecd instead.

Did you read the documentation?  There is a special chapter for ntfs resizing.

I want to set the system partitions on two computers to exactly the same size. Now they differ by one cluster or 4KB. Is there a command line or option to get Gparted to adjust the size to the cluster level? The Gparted GUI only shows MB resolution.

Gparted provides a GUI to a number of tools like Parted, e2fsprogs, dosfstools, ntfsprogs, etc.
You can run these tools from the command line, with all the available options.
