Topic: GParted Cannot Grow Windows Dynamic Disk

I have a 30G partition with 300Megs of free space. The HD is 40G. GParted shows 10G unallocated and lets me select to grow the partition to the full HD size. When I go to commit the changes it gives an error saying that it cannot manage Windows Dynamic Disks. Any way around this????/ I don't to have to reformat and start over......

Re: GParted Cannot Grow Windows Dynamic Disk

It's true. Gparted (as well as other commercial and open-source tools) can't manage windows dynamic disks. I think you can expand this disk using the specific m$ tools. I'm not sure how this is done, perhaps you have to make a new partition in the unallocated space and expand your original dynamic disk over that partition. Please, look at the microsoft knowledge base about this issue.
Anyway, I don't use this proprietary disk configuration at all.
