Re: Live cd don't boot

I don't know the number of the liveCD version you tried.
I'd like to ask you to try on a cdrw some of the 3 late versions: 0.3.4-8, 0.3.4-7 and 0.3.4-6.
Each one of them boots and detects the hardware in a slightly different manner. Their essential partitionning work doesn't vary. If we can't solve the problem this manner, we can try to "play" with BIOS settings.

Re: Live cd don't boot

I try 0.3.4-8.

I try all version 0.3.4-8, 0.3.4-7 and 0.3.4-6. No changes, cd stop at the same point.

I change the bios settings many times but nothing change.

Cd stop at the same point.

Thks for your help.

Re: Live cd don't boot

Can you try to change the SATA configuration in the BIOS setup?
SATA disks can be seen by the BIOS as IDE disks rather that native SATA.

Re: Live cd don't boot

I don't have any SATA drive.

Sata is disabled in bios settings.

I try after enabled it.

Re: Live cd don't boot

Sorry nothing change.

I enable SATA mod in IDE or RAID and nothing, cd stop at he same point.

Gentoo 2007.0 and ubuntu live works, Gparted live and SystemRescueCd don't.

Re: Live cd don't boot

I read in a previous of your posts
"Storage
IDE Disks
WDC WD400BB-00DEA0
_NEC DVD_RW ND-4570A
SCSI Disks
ST316081 2A
"

Is this disk SCSI or SATA? SATA disks are usually detected by the Linux systems as SCSI.

Another solution could be to try the 'partedmagic' cd, that uses gparted for partition resizing, but uses another boot system. Your problem is how to *boot*.

Re: Live cd don't boot

It's not a SCSI drive just a usb drive.

I try without this drive connected and nothing change.

I try partedmagic.

Thanks.

Re: Live cd don't boot

Hmmm!
A USB disk is an ordinary IDE or SATA disk in an enclosure with USB interface (controller).
You could try to boot with your USB disk disconnected, and to connect it after booting. Some computers (including one of mines) don't even boot with a USB disk connected + turned on.

Furthermore, you can try to disconnect other usb devices, to do the resizing.

Re: Live cd don't boot

Hello,

Partedmagic works great, i resize my partition with no problem.

I will try gparted live without any usb devices connected. I will give you the results.

Thanks for all.
