Topic: I want to add a partition to my vista setup but....

I just purchased a laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed.  I now want to add a partition so I can dual boot Windows XP, however, I've learned from reading that in order for the resizing etc. of the partitions you have to run a windows repair to keep vista functional.  This requires the Windows Vista disc.  Unfortunately I didn't receive one with my laptop even though I did receive the product key.  What can I do to successfully resize the partitions on my drive?

1. You can resize vista with its own resizing tool.

2. As I read, manufacturers must give a cd with the O.S. There was even a legal issue with H.P. about 2 years ago, and they had to post to all of their users the cd (it used to not give any cd, just a hidden "recovery" partition on the hard disk, they even didn't have included 2 of the support directories of the original ms cd).

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***
