Topic: [Solved]Parted can't resize partitions managed by Windows Dynamic Disk

Any one know where I went wrong?
Using ssh, I have changed my .vmdk file to new needed size. Booted server and shut down server. I booted server again from iso image of "gparted-livecd-0.3.4-7". Gparted finds the partion, but already shows the new partion size. When I try to go ahead and run gparted to expand the partion, I get "Parted can't resize partitions managed by Windows Dynamic Disk" error.

To all. I failed to mention, OS is Windows 2003 server. Not sure if this is the correct solution, but with Windows 2003 they encluded a utility called diskpart.exe. Run from the command line, it seems to do what is needed. I am leary as this comes from Microsoft..........

This is true. You have to manipulate these dynamic disks with m$ tools.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***
