Topic: Windows XP merging of two partitions failed.
I have a D: drive and a C: drive that are on the same physical disk. I destroyed the first partition(d) and was going to expand the second partition (c) to use the space. Now, however, when I boot, it tells me that the OS can't be found. It looks like I've lost my MBR if I have the terminology correct.
Is there a way of getting access to the c: drive (and the f: drive which is a separate physical drive.) Just a pointer to the right program or to a discussion of a similar issue would be nice. I've looked at quite a bit of the forum and haven't found anything similar.
I'm using Windows XP home edition. I think SP2. It is a Compaq Presario computer. I have a backup of the c: drive. I could just reinstall Windows and copy the data back, but I'm afraid that I won't get the f: drive back.
Hoping this makes sense,
