Topic: unlock partition

I have Windows, Linux and Linux swap partitions on a 80GB hard drive.  I was attempting to resize the ext.2 as at the moment approx 50% has been taken up and the Windows partition is grossly under used.  When I opened up the display showed a lock on the ext2 and my question is how do I alter things in order to resize the ext.2

If you use an installed version, this is normal, because the program couldn't make changes to the partition from which it runs. You must run the LiveCD version, that don't mount partitions.
