Topic: MS Virtual Server/Virtual machine, VESA works but no mouse

Running LiveCD 0.3.4-8
Trying to use LiveCD in a Virtual Machine run on Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1, graphic display starts when selecting VESA as graphics card (auto does not work), but mouse pointer does not move (it's displayed though, in the middle of the screen, but stuck there).

Any hints?
Thanks!
Frank

What kind of pointer do you have on screen, please? an arrow or a "X" symbol?
Do you have full colour screen with the icons on the desktop?

And yes, a colour screen with the icons. But apparently no way to access the top icons. Gparted itself seems to work, though.

Did you try other boot options, like previous boot method... ?

Re: MS Virtual Server/Virtual machine, VESA works but no mouse

I was able to get the mouse with GParted v0.3.4-10 in MS Virtual PC 2007 by editing the VESA driver graphics option and adding " -- i8042.noloop" to the kernel line and then booting.  I got the idea from arcanecode's post at http://arcanecode.wordpress.com/2007/10 … l-pc-2007/.
