Topic: Windows not showing resized space

Hi Everyone...

I have just used Gparted 0.3.4-6 to resize my hdd. I had to run chkdsk /f etc, then I rebooted the livecd resized the partition and everything seemed to be fine.

When I go into Windows, it still says I only have 20gb free. I read in a similar thread that you have to update the partition table?
Could someone please link me, or set me on the right track please!
I'm new to using Linux and am not very adept with the lanquage. (Just meaning all the switches etc.)

Thanks in advance for any help!

p.s I am sorry if this is a 'noob' question or has been answered numerous times or is a common problem. But any help would be appreciated greatly!

Thanks..
:-)

edit:
My problem is basically the same as this thread...

Re: Windows not showing resized space

Ok....
Well I did another chkdsk /f and now it seems to be fine!

So doing a chkdsk /f updates the partition table?

Re: Windows not showing resized space

From CHKDSK help:
/F    Fixes errors on the disk.
I don't know what type of errors smile

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***
