Topic: can't move partition

Hi,

I've been using gparted over that last few hours. Very neat program, works smoothly, but now I've come to a stop:

I want to move a FAT32 partition (ca. 740MB, ca. 500MB used) but unfortunately I always get the error that parted can't move a partition with this size yet. Why not? I tried to extend the partition by 5MB  successfully, but I couldn't shrink it anymore.

Can anybody give me some advise on how to move this partition? Because now I'm having an unused block of 500MB and a partition that awaits enlarging by 500MB.

Thanks for your help!
Bernd

Re: can't move partition

Is this unused block just before or after the FAT32 partition?
You told you want to *move* the partition. Move or extend? Move to another block on the disk? Be more specific please about all the existing partitions.
If you can extend the partition by 5 MB, why can't you extend it by 500 MB?
