Expanding a >2 TB partition

Hi.

Does Gparted support partitions above 2TB? From what I've read, the answer is yes, but I can't get it to work.

I currently have a 2.5TB array on my Areca ARC1170. When trying to create a 2.5TB partition using Gparted LiveCD 0.3.4.6 I only creates a partition at ~280GB. It sees the entire volume, but only creates a partition at ~15% of total available space. If I create a 2.1TB partition in parted, I see the 2.1TB partition in Gparted, but when trying to expanding it to 2.5TB, it again creates a 280GB partition instead.

I'm using GPT partition table so that's not the problem.

Can anyone tell me if I'm trying to do something that isn't supported by Gparted or if I'm getting a bug not yet reported?
