Topic: New User Help me please...

Hi,

i ve downloaded gparted live cd and wrote the image into a cd..and booted it and i got the following  menu.... i dont know which option to select..... I am using windows xp...  i ve selected some options for example the first one.... it displayed some information and nothing has come ... i have seen some screen shots.... but i am not getting them when i booted and selected the menu option.... is there any need to edit the path... if so what is that

I am not an expert in Linux but please, keep in mind the following:


1. Make sure the ISO you downloaded was intact (use the MD5 checksum)
2. Burn the ISO and if available verify the CD (e.g. NERO has a "verify" option after burning)
3. Be VERY specific about what kind of hardware you have and the configuration of your disks
4. Make sure your RAM is Ok (memtest86+) and your hardware as well
5. Write down the messages you receive during GParted boot-up


After that please re-phrase your question to be very, very specific...
