Topic: LiveCD won't boot in my Dell Inspiron 8000

I need to enlarge the C: partition on my internal hard drive so I can finish reinstalling my programs and files.

I've copied gparted-livecd-0.2.5-5.iso to a CD & set my Dell Inspiron 8000 to boot from a CD.

When I put in the CD, the laptop will not boot from it.  [My neighbor's new IBM Thinkpad won't boot from it either.]

What am I doing wrong?

I need to know ASAP, for I must pay my bills!

Thanks for any help and/or advice.

You just copied the iso file onto the cd didn't you? smile

An iso file is a disk image. You must create a cd from the disk image. All cd burning apps have this option.
