Topic: backtrace of gparted crashing

when i run gparted in kde, i got the pop-up of a new device being detected. why gparted bring up such a pop-up? it's related to hal and dbus ??

moreover i have the impression it is the cause of that crash below.

gparted (0.3.3-3)
gtkmm (2.10.7-1)
cairomm (1.2.4-1)
glibmm (2.12.6-1)
parted (1.8.2-1)

[~]# gparted
======================
libparted : 1.8.2
======================
Incapable d'ouvrir /dev/hdc en lecture-

Have you got a cdrom in your media driver ?

Re: backtrace of gparted crashing

remove it, and it won't crash anymore : this is a parted bug that comes with 1.8.x
Parted tries to scan cdrom filesystem :-/
It is fixed in parted-1.8.3, but not yet out.
