Topic: I am not able to make a new partition by gparted (system ubuntu 6.0.6)

Hi
When I open gparted all options are in a grey mode - so I am not able to choose any of them.
When i choose /dev/hda1 and clik to unmount it the following sentence apears : Unable to unmount dev/hda1. The partition or harddrive is busy.
I do know about that it is my main partition and it might not want to unmount it because the whole system wouldnt work then.
So i just wander how I could make partitions with gparted in other way then unmouting dev/hda1.
I suppose that only way is to use live cd but I just do not know how to do it.
If somebody could send me a link to a solution it would be great.

Yes, you cant work on your own system with GParted, since your system is mounted. so you need to use livecd. For you need to download the iso file and to burn it. download can is available here : http://gparted.free.fr/GParted-LiveCD-0 … -14h11.iso
Then search in your burn-soft something like ("burn iso") and you got it smile
