I would like to format a 3TB drive so that I can read, write, copy, and delete files from either Linux or Windows.
I assume your question is what partition format and file system should I use so that I can read, write, copy, and delete files from either Linux or Windows.
1. Create a GPT partition table.
2. Create one partition filling the drive containing one of these file systems: NTFS, exFAT, UDF. Most Linux distributions have a way to mount NTFS and exFAT read-write these days.
