Topic: Hit with a GPF on liveUSB

I recently got stung by a GPF while using gparted-live-1.1.0-6-amd64
Here is the output of the dmesg logs - https://pastebin.com/LGqXA3p9
I was in the middle of having gparted resize and move a partition on an MD software RAID5 storage volume. That partition is skewered and unusable now due to the e2image tool becoming hung in the D state.

I have at best one question for the moment - could one of the gparted devs take a peek at the dmesg log file to see if perhaps a newer Kernel is needed to prevent a mishap like this?
as a side and lesser question, I am struggling to determine how to manually recreate the original partition so as to perform data recovery (spare me the usual speech, I admit all fault for not having proper backups). I am not sure if I ought to make another thread for that
