Topic: Only garbled screen at the top with Lice-CD 0.028.1

Tried to fix an issue with a corrupted hard drive on a Lenovo Ideapad S400. after getting the initial boot menu in the upper left quadrant of the screen only (could live with that), regardless what option I choose (safe graphics, fail safe), I get only a garbled output of white/grey pixels at the top half inch or so of the screen, rendering the software pretty much unusable at that point...

Any useful hints on how to get this working (quick)?

thanks,

Ralf

Did you try the Tips on Booting GParted Live?

As I stated in my post, yes, I tried the safe graphics mode as well as the failsafe mode, both with the same result. And I of course checked/changed the UEFI setup, otherwise I would not have been able to boot from the CD in the first place.
I can give the forcevideo option a try, though I would expect that the safe graphics option would use a VESA driver already.

All in all, my intention was more to troubleshoot the hard drive issues I was experiencing when trying to do a clean re-install of Windows 10 on that laptop than troubleshooting video issues on a partitioning tool.

Anyway, I will let you know if that forcevideo option yielded any progress...

thanks,
