Topic: MiniTool 'destroyed' my file system, how do I recover it
Hi there,
I've used the applicaiton called MiniTool Partition Wizard to reduce my partition by 10GB and expand my second partition by using those 10GB.
I had
C: with Win7 (400GB)
D: with Win8 (65GB)
After the application has finished the transfer, I couldn't start Win7 or Win8 anymore. There also wasn't any system recovery which I could use. I'm currently on a Ubuntu System via a USB flash drive. I can access all my files of the two disks. Using GParted, it gives me the following error http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4103 … qj_jpg.htm
I've also used this command (I've read it somewhere) sudo fdisk -l -c=dos
which gives me this
Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders, total 976773168 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x9be22c72
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 2048 206847 102400 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.

/dev/sda5 839171403 976768064 68798331 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
Disk /dev/sdb: 2020 MB, 2020605952 bytes
51 heads, 50 sectors/track, 1547 cylinders, total 3946496 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xb837e26d
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 264 3946495 1973116 6 FAT16
How can I repair my partition so that I can boot Windows 7 again?
