Topic: SOLVED Screen flashes, rather than run GParted

I've used GParted for several years, but have just moved to a new laptop - Lenovo G50-80. It has UEFI, which may be relevant.

When I run the live CD (0.22.0.1), I get to the stage, after keyboard and language choice, of video mode (? - sorry if this sounds vague). If I choose the default, as I've done in the past, the screen just starts flashing, and won't go any further.

I'm too ignorant to know why, or what to do, so if someone can help I'll be very grateful

Thanks

You might be experiencing a problem with the video driver for your new laptop.

You might try the steps listed in the GParted Live Manual - Tips on Booting GParted Live.

gedakc, thanks, that worked. I chose "Safe graphics Settings, vga=normal" and it worked as before.

Cheers

Thanks for reporting back with how you resolved the problem, and for marking the initial post as solved.  :-)
