Topic: Can I save (and later restore) the current part. structure?

I wonder whether I can save the current partition structure with Gparted-LiveCD.

I mean NOT the content of the partitions BUT their size, the type (primary, logical, active, hidden), the file type (NTFS,FAT32) and the position of the (MBR/GPT) partitions on the hard disc.

After formatting the whole hard disc I want to start Gparted-LiveCD again, then read the partition structure from previous
Gparted-LiveCD config file (from USB Stick or external USB hard disc) and re-partition the hard disc accordingly.

Is this possible with Gparted-LiveCD?

If not: Could this feature be added in the next release?

If I understand your request, you are looking for the functionality in the following report:

Bug 680524 - support backup/restore of the harddisk partition table (MBR)

The report contains instructions on how to do this manually for msdos partition tables and gpt.  The GParted Live image contains the necessary commands.
