Topic: [SOLVED] put screenshot into post?

ok, dumb question but how do you put a sreenshot into a post??
I tried copy and paste and click and move but neither worked!
A screenshot of Gparted is a very easy way to convey information
about your situation.
thanks,

Re: [SOLVED] put screenshot into post?

When your composing your post look at the Images link for help.  It's just at the top right of the box where you typed your text.

Steps:

  1. Upload you picture online some where.

  2. Paste the forum BBCode link into your post.  E.g.

[img]URL to your picture here[/img]

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. Also by editing the initial post and adding [SOLVED] at the start of the topic subject, you will help others searching for similar issues.

P.P.S. It looks like this:

Re: [SOLVED] put screenshot into post?

Why doesn't this work for me?
I saw the help. And now, obviously I see this thread and I see its image. Moreover @reddogg was happy and marked the topic as solved.
But when I do the same thing, the preview just shows me the BBCode (bracket img bracket etc.). What am I missing?
I was trying with a .jpeg, I am using the latest Firefox on Ubuntu 18.

@lastfight
The above advice is still correct.  Please attempt to post an image in the thread where you want the image to appear.  I will review and correct.

Okay, @mfleetwo, I edited the post in "[SOLVED] GParted sees partiton as 100% full but it's not", even though it's solved, for the sake of the experiment.
Of course I understand that a URL such as file:///home/michael/Pictures/gparted.jpeg refers to the local host. But such is the case while doing the post/edit/reply and I was hoping that the function would upload my local files. I don't have any web site of my own to host these pictures permanently. How do the others do it?

Re: [SOLVED] put screenshot into post?

@lastflight
This forum does not support image uploading.  As I mentioned back in 2012-12-27, pictures have to be uploaded online some where.

I personally have an https://postimages.org/ account for storing my pictures online.
