Topic: I tried to repartion a 160GB disk with 2 ntfs partitions.

I tried to repartion a 160GB disk with 2 ntfs partitions. I wanted partition A to be increased with 5GB+ and partition b reduced by 5GB.
With gparted the process would have taken more than 1 hr, so I aborted the process (risky, I know...)
Acronis Disk Director 11 completed the same task within minutes...
Why is this? Acronis bootable media are based on linux as well as gparted, so why is Acronis so much quicker?
You should try to glean how they do it. Use a spy if necessary...

All of the work on GParted is performed by volunteers.  The source code is open and freely available for anyone to inspect and improve upon and there is no "spying" involved.
