Topic: Newbie needs lots of help

Just tried the gparted live cd. I was interested in trying to find an accidentally deleted partition. Anyhow, the font is so small that I can't read anything so can't figure out how to decrease the screen resolution. Can anyone give me some pointers on both the font size so I can read the menus etc. and in trying to recover a deleted partiton????

The system usually boots with the maximum available resolution.

Try to boot with the VESA option.
Another option: you can close the Gparted window and run the "Forcevideo" command (script) on the text terminal. Then you have to choose your graphics adapter and desired resolution (1024x768 or 800x600) would be enough).

But, to undelete partitions, you have to use other programs, like "testdisk". Hopefully, it is included in the Gparted livecd. You have to type testdisk on the terminal.
