Topic: Icons in the Gparted Screens

What does a "padlock" mean, please.  I have spent an interesting weekend trying to get Ubuntu running off an original installation, having added a new SATA hd and loading Ubuntu onto that disk.  The only way I have now got it to work is with a "configfile" pointing to the next Ubuntu installation.

This gives me "padlocks" on the firs (original 3 gig drive) as well as on the new 500 sata (split into two partitions, the first having the new install on it).

Don't worry - I found it in the documentation:

<i>"If you want to work on a mounted partition, you must first unmount it ! If a partition is mounted a brown lock is placed next to the partition."</i>

BTW the web site with the documentation is veryyyy slow?

With my 1 MB line and my rather old computer, it seems to be as fast as most sites. Perhaps the server is overloaded sometimes smile
