Topic: Usb Boot

With a USB memory stick to boot,  system gets to (boot    cant find linux)
I am trying to boot on a WYSE S90 that has a 512meg flash IDE drive with 2 partitions.
1) unknown 1meg wyse format
2) a ntfs for whats left of 512meg.
3) a small unformated section about 1meg.

Got above info by using Puppy Linux 2.17 on a USB MEM STICK set up as a super floppy.
Other Usb Mem Sticks set up as a Dos  also make it.
A Usb 2x speed floppy drive also boots.

Usb stick set to boot 1st in bios, Flash IDE to boot 2nd in bios, no 3rd item set yet.
Only dos boot to see flash drive is on USB stick, floppy does not?
Linux only sees flash drive in gparted not main linux?
What drive that makes it?

Would like to use GParted to break up 512meg ntfs into 2 drives because XPE on this system has a software write protect on the main XPE section and that makes it bad to install a program that wants a storage area.  ADMIN CAN TEMP REMOVE WRITE PROTECT TO INSTALL PROGRAMS.
And would like to use GParted to backup to the usb stick the flash drive if possible?
