Topic: The latest release of GParted Live CD: need MD5 SUM

Hello smile

I am wondering if any of you guys could generate me an MD5SUM to check against mine:

566f683c305465b11798dd13a3a01a23

(I generated it of gparted gparted-live-0.3.6-7.iso)

Just wondering but why are md5 sums not put up on sourceforge together with the release of the iso's?

---------------------------

Another question:

I can use GParted like it was norton ghost right (back up and restore ntfs partitions)?

You are right, MD5 values aren't in the release notes.
I put them from my own downloads.

About ghost, image ...
You can make partition copies, but I think there are some more efficient tools.
dd allows to make partition or entire hard disk copies (it is even used by Gparted in some cases).
clonezilla allows partition and disk copies manipulating used blocks only.

You can make a partition copy to another partition (on the same or on another hard disk) but not to a disk file.
