Topic: Stops the process

I managed to boot from the Parted Magic LiveCD version 1.9. Resized main partition, created extended partition, created logical partition herein, Applied All Operations, the first steps went all right, then a box came with something like GParted has stopped its operation, and an option of saving a log file to 'root'. I did this, changed the settings back to one partition, resized to the max size (as it was before I started), closed, Windows rescanned the disc, rebooted - everything was as before. But I could not find the log file. It was not in C:\ or anywhere else I could find.
What can I do better next time I try?

Re: Stops the process

This is because the "root" of the filesystem isn't on a drive, it is in RAM, so it goes away with the system reboot. Gparted livecd (or other livecds that use it, like Parted magic) doesn't use hard disks to store its info.

So, you have to copy it to another unit, usually a floppy disk, usb memory stick or an external hard drive. Look at the documentation page
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/documentation.php
how to save gparted details html file.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***

Thanks. I thought something like that. I'll try it.
