Topic: Geforce 7900GS: 0.3.4-9 works, -10/-11 don't...

I have noticed that on my computer gparted-livecd-0.3.4-9 works perfectly. But -10 and -11 will always fail to load the graphical interface.
This ALSO happens for the gparted-clonzilla combo CD... the version of the combo CD that uses gparted -9 works, and the ones with newer versions have the exact same failure.

My motherboard:

I have gotten a new video card, an evga 8800GTS v3 512MB and it loads correctly with the newer versions.
So the problem seems to be with the 7900GS video card. Somewhere between -9 and -10 video support for it broke.

There are usually changes in hardware detection from a version to the next one.
Keep the version(s) that work with your hardware. Newer hardware often needs newer software version (newer kernel, drivers etc.)

I figured as much. I wanted to provide information and help in whatever way i can to track down this problem and fix it. Its actually not an issue for me anymore because it was a problem with my OLD video card (I upgraded a week ago). However I still kept it and would still like to work towards finding a solution for the sake of improving the project.

Is there any other info I might collect for this problem? should I get some specific software tools and use them to provide detailed reports?
