Topic: LiveCD "i686" = 32bit vs. "amd64" = 64 bit? Legacy BIOS vs. UEFI?

When I go to download page

https://gparted.org/download.php

then there are two ISO files to download.

Is the "i686" version the 32bit and the "amd64" the 64bit version?

Assume I want to put them on an USB flash drive:

Are they working for legacy BIOS computer or for UEFI BIOS computers?

According the download page, the amd64 version is more suitable for newer UEFI-based computers. However, setup settings could affect details. If your computer belongs to this category try this first. In case of problem you can try the i686 too.
