Topic: Grub-install.real error

Following the documentation "Restoring Grub 2  Boot Loader I encountered the folllowing:

# grub2-install /dev/sda

grub-install.real : error
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/modinfo.sh does not exist. Please specify --target or --directory

I was running from a Linux 18.3 distribution disk.

I haven't encountered that error myself.  My recommendation would be to post your question in a forum for the "Linux 18.3 distribution disk" you are using.
