Topic: GParted seems to miss the Linux partition in dual boot system

Hello, I'm trying to edit the partitions on my system in order to get rid of windows entirely (I am currently dual booting win/openSUSE).

I am inspecting my current partitioning layout and I don't quite understand it; I'd say that the linux partition sits on top of the windows one, as opposed to next to each other.

A few symtoms: "df ." says I'm on partition called /dev/nvme0n1p6 117G large:

gghh@dhcp233:~> df -h .

but GParted doesn't see that at all:

"parted -l" is more insteresting, as it seems to hint that the region 86GB->131GB is both btrfs and ntfs

It looks like you have at least two drives in your computer:  1000 GB /dev/sda, and 256 GB /dev/nvme0n1

The Linux file systems are only on the /dev/nvme0n1 device.

Your home directory is in the /dev/nvme0n1p6 partition.
This leads me to believe your Linux root partition is in the /dev/nvme0n1p5 partition.

The boot partition for dual boot is currently /dev/sda1.  For performance reasons you might consider settting up the EFI boot partition on the /dev/nvme0n1 device.  You would also need to edit your UEFI firmware to point to this boot device.

Before you delete your Windows partitions, I highly recommend that you backup your data.  That way if anything goes wrong then you have the option of restoring your data.
