Topic: HDD turned Raw

Hi,

I'm trying to recover an HDD GPT partition that suddenly turned Raw.

Here's the screenshots of what I've got so far, but I'm struggling to understand how to recover the partition using gdisk.

GParted keeps complaining that it cannot see any partitions and gdisk seems to suggest everything is OK - sltough I cannot seem to use all the gdisk options like -v - it complains of syntax errors.

Any ideas ?

Re: HDD turned Raw

You might try using testdisk to scan the disk surface looking for partition start and end boundaries.

If possible it is highly recommended to make a clone of the disk drive with "dd" before you write any changes to the the disk.  That way if any of the recovery efforts make things worse, then you can restore back to your current situation and try again.
