Topic: Gparted installation on SSD (OS/Program disk)

After a successful Kubuntu installation, I am unable to see all the hdd's (OS installed on SSD); and Gparted was suggested to me as the answer.

My Question:

How do install Gparted to the SSD (OS and Programs) so that I can partition, etc. my 2 X 3TB hdd's? After 25 years experience in all worthy iterations of Windows, I have grown dependent upon Computer Management where I have complete visibility and control over all my disks.

-------------------

Btw, the continuous questioning as to "who was the creator of Gparted" is really quite noisome.

Re: Gparted installation on SSD (OS/Program disk)

Install GParted package into *Ubuntu like this:

sudo apt-get install gparted

This is the Ubuntu Installing Software page for reference.

To run GParted find it in the menus or type this:

sudo gparted

GParted is also available as a Live bootable CD for when you need to repartition the file system containing the OS itself, etc.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

First of all thank you so much for your reply.

It was recommended that I use KDE Partition Mgr. instead.

Your thoughts?

Please feel free to use whichever partition editor you choose.

Of course we have a preference for GParted because we maintain and enhance GParted.
