Topic: GPT not recognized

New Dell laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed.  I am trying to install Linux Mint 17.3 for dual-boot. I shrank the Windows partition using Windows Disk Management.

Linux Mint installer and GParted report no partition information.  Windows 10 Disk Management happily reports GUID Partition Table present, including multiple volumes and half the disk unallocated.

How can I convince Linux to recognize the partition and un-allocated space for the install?  Thanks!

Re: GPT not recognized

Perhaps the Windows installation is using Windows Dynamic Disks?  If so then this is proprietary and not supported by GNU/Linux.
