Topic: [SOLVED] Move a reiser partition

Hi,

I have the following disk layout on my laptop:

Platte /dev/hda: 40.0 GByte, 40007761920 Byte
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4864 cylinders
Einheiten = Zylinder von 16065

Here is what you need : http://gparted.sourceforge.net/larry/tips/gfs.htm
Of course you will have to adapt this to your own situation and fs.

Re: [SOLVED] Move a reiser partition

Larry,

thanks. I've seen that page before. I know that I need to move the reiser partition (hda3) in order to get the free space adjacent to the fat32 partition (hda2) so that I can make the latter bigger.

However, that's precisely the problem: when I click on "Resize/Move" with the reiser partition selected, I'm only shown the option to enlarge the partition, not to actually move it. So that's what puzzles me. (What just occured to me: could it be because the partition has the bootable-flag set? Just guessing.)

Thanks,

Could you post a screen shot of the gparted layout somewhere please ?

Re: [SOLVED] Move a reiser partition

Larry,

thanks again. I don't know how this happened, but it just occured to me that I had downloaded an older version of gparted. With the most recent one, my moving plus resizing of the reiser and fat32 partitions worked just fine. Sorry!

Thanks, and best regards,
