Re: [SOLVED] shrink hda1 and enlarge hda4

hello

thanks for your quick answer!

sorry, i forgot to mention that i already had read the documentation but still i am not able to do it.

when i have shrinked hda1 i can move hda2 (swap) to the left of the unallocated space but gparted does not let me move hda3  and hda4

i tried to do it all at once without applying the operations before staring another

by the way, will there be any problem with booting linux after moving the swap or the system partition?

Some screenshots would be interesting here ...

It depends on the way your system works : if it uses label, it will be okay, if your bootloader uses partition number it may fail if numbers have changed

Move like this : http://gparted.sourceforge.net/larry/tips/gfs/gfs-5.jpg
In your screen shot you seem to try to resize. Don't do that ! What you need is to move !

It should solve your problem wink

Re: [SOLVED] shrink hda1 and enlarge hda4

ok finally it worked!

first i used a ubuntu live cd but it was like i described, didn't let me move

then i downloaded the last live-cd but i didn't boot, after hidding enter to boot it began to load, but then black monitor and nothing more

then i used an old live-cd and everything worked perfectly

thanks!
