Topic: Fatal error: no screens found

I'm a new convert to linux and I would like to create a new partition on an old laptop (HP Omnibook XE2) with GParted liveCD

I ran the CD and the most of procedure is OK.

But after a while I have: "Fatal server error: no screen found" yikes

Is my computer to old for the last version of GParted?

Thank you for helping me (:P at least, please tell me how to end the procedure; I don't know the command to quit!).

Re: Fatal error: no screens found

which version do you use ?
If it is the last, at prompt type vesa (be careful with your keyboard layout) : you need to read "vesa" at prompt.

sorry, but i go to bed now smile

Re: Fatal error: no screens found

Thanks for the command!

I'm sure I use the latest one, but I have not the CD at hand at present time. Should I choose a previous and less complex one for my old laptop?

Thanks!

Try with vesa and tell me how it works, please.

Yes we have some issues with laptop :-/
I guess this come from kernel configuration which i am currently modifying.
A beta will be available asap.
