Topic: splitting a win drive 80gb allowing 40gb for win and 40 gb for data

hello this seems to obvious a question but i cant find any doc that tells me what to do.
there must be more than just dragging the size down.
So  Split exist drive into two partitions while mainaining the existing data in first partition.

the only way i know is not exactly spliting :
shrink you partition
create a new one
copy the files you need from the first to the second.
*it must be* a no-system partition
