Topic: Re-sizing after new install..

I was told this is where I needed to go to fix my problem. I have a new 250GB HDD that windows would only format into 127GB due to the LBA restrictions. IF I can without causing any problems  to my new fully updated windows install, I would like to re-format the HDD so that it is one 250GB partion rather than the one 127 I have now + the othe 100+ that is unallocated. I am not asking for a guarantee that it wont mess anything up only some reassurances that it should not.IF I were to use GParted to resize my drive.

Well, i currently resize drives using GParted, even NTFS  and got no problem. Be just sure that your drive is recognized as it is (about the size).

Not sure what you mean here. The drive is a 250GB but windows says its 127GB. My BIOS does recognize it as 250GB. IF you go into the admin tools for storage options it says that there is 100+GB that is "unallocated"
