Topic: Syncout of range error

I have been using gParted for quite sometime now, recently i changed my MB to Biostar TA785GE with ATI Radeon HD 4200 Graphics on board.

Now when I try to boot using the Live CD after the startup when i should be seeing a GUI of gparted, I just see a "Sync out of Range" bouncing around in my monitor.

I am using a Samsung Samtron 15 inch monitor thats aroung 5 yrs old.

I did try using the Safe graphics mode, but to no luck. The version i am using is gparted-live-0.4.3-2.

Is there a workaround for the error?

p.s: if this is a wrong area to post, mods please move this post to an appropriate section, thanks

Re: Syncout of range error

0.4.3-2 is quite old. It is better and safer to use a newer version, especially 0.4.6-1.
"Sync out of Range" means that the graphics board selected the wrong graphics mode. Safe graphics normally would work on almost any computer. It is possible usually to use some command line options to start the graphics screen. However, it is recommended to use the newer version that is safer for resizing operations.
