Topic: Live CD fails on bootup

I am using GParted Live v.0.4.5-2.  When attempt to boot to the CD is just gives a title page in dos char that say's GParted with versioning info and just sits there.  When I use my version 3 cd it gets stuck in a loop giving the following errors.

sd 2:0:1:3: [sdq] Device not ready: Sense Key: Not Ready [current]

sd 2:0:1:3: [sdq] Device not ready: Add. Sense: Logical unit not ready, manual intervention required end_request: I/O error, dev sdq, sector 0

I have tried booting up without the fiber plugged in and with but neither yield successful results.

Hi dnbrown,
are you sure, that your download was correct. Did you verify md5 sum ?
Are you sure, that you "burned an ISO image" and not a data CD or bootable CD ?

I'm certain this isn't the first time I have used gparted.

Re: Live CD fails on bootup

Can you identify the involved device [sdq] ? Is it your DVD/CDROM drive or another SCSI device ?
If it's not the first time, you use "GParted", what device name has the CDROM drive ?
What is "fiber", a fiber optic ?  Why should it be involved in the boot process ?
