Topic: Core 2 Quad Dell won't boot GParted LiveCD

Just as the shell starts to load, I get an error and am dumped to a command prompt.  I see both language questions and answer English for both.  That is it  The machine is brand new and the standard Windows Vista partition editor (DiskPart) won't do.  Granted, it is much better than in XP, but it won't cut it.  I don't know if it matters, but the boot partition is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Any ideas ho to get it working?  I don't know the version of the CD.

You could try the alternate boot options. Selecting VESA graphics and a resolution ot 1024x748 pixels works on almost any system.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***

Sorry.  Selecting "Force VESA driver" didn't help.  Below is the end of the output.

>> Determining looptype ...
!! Invalid loop location: /gparted.dat
!! Please export Loop with a valid location, or reboot and pass a proper loop=...
!! kernel command line!

/bin/ash: can't access tty; jobcontrol turned off

Looks like the one you used is not GParted live 0.4.5-2. Could you please download:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile … _id=271779
and try it ?
