Topic: Minimum partition size is the same as max size in Gparted
Hi,
I am a first-time user of Gparted. I would like to have a dual-boot on my hard drive, for both Windows (it's Winxp sp3 and latest Ubuntu). The PC has only one HD, 120Gb. It's not brand new, as you've probably already guessed. The goal is to split its hard drive 90/20 between Windows and Linux.
Currently, I have 2 partitions, drive C: 109GB and drive D: 2GB. So, obviously I should make C: smaller and D: larger. I have about 40GB of free space on D: but when I try to reduce the partition's size, it wont let me.
When I click on Resize/Move, it shows me Minumum Size is equal to maximum size.
Which makes resizing of the partition almost worthless. What should I do reduce minumum size? It's my understanding that disk defragmentation is not going to help, correct?
Any help is very appreciated.
