Topic: Cannot recognize keyboard

I am new to GParted and I've never used any Linux before.

I've got the gparted-live-0.4.3-2 and tried to boot the LiveCD on my BenQ S42 laptop. It run until the line ask for entering the keymap. I tried press buttons on my keyboard but nothing happened (key stroke still flashing). I searched the forum and told to avoid using usb or any wireless keyboard, but the matter is I don't have PS/2 port in my laptop. How can I get round it?

Another hang up occur when I plugged my Logitech mouse wireless receiver, the loading halt after this line
    "io scheduler cfq registered"
Again, key stroke flashing but nothing happened from my keyboard. When I boot without the receiver, it can load until asking for keymap.

Re: Cannot recognize keyboard

Hello seasonfung,

are you sure about the correct state of your "Num(lock)" or "Shift" keys ? Just toggle it, when key stroke seems to fail. Keyboard failure is a very rare event under Linux -- failure of wireless stuff, however, is not !
