Topic: Monitor powered off, won't come back. - What should I do?

I started a GParted job earlier to shrink a partition on one disk, then extend another by about 5GB.

I left that to run, and now that I have come back, the screen is in power save mode, and I can't get GParted to come back up.

When I came back, the HDD activity light was on, but now it has turned off. Is it safe to restart the computer? What should I do?

I'm using an older version of GParted (not sure which one) because I couldn't get my flash drive to boot.

Edit: Actually, the HDD acticity light is flashing for less than a second about every 2.5 seconds. Should I reboot, or wait until it stops flashing completely?

Hi!

In theory, the screen should come back as soon as you move the mouse or strike any key (just to be on the safe side, you'd better use something like the NumLock key for this - otherwise you could accidentally trigger some action).
An alternative way would be to open a text terminal by pressing [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F2] simultaneously. If the screen comes back up on this key combination, you'll find your GParted graphical environment by trying all th [F-]-keys in the same manner.
