Topic: How to Buy GParted

Hello,

Will someone please walk me through the steps required to purchase The GParted CD?  I know old age has me failing to understand the proper sequence but so far I have been going round and round without ever reaching the buy step.  And, just to give me some confidence---since the discussions are heavy with the word, Linux, please assure me that It can be used successfully with a Windows XP ntfs system.  Thank you.

Re: How to Buy GParted

GParted is absolutely free to download and use. For this, you can download the ISO file from the GParted main site, burn a cdr disc as ISO image and boot your computer from this cdr.

However it is possible to order a cd from the link under "Order a CD", in the "Download" section of the GParted site. This has nothing to do with the GParted developer team and is just for the cases of very slow or instable internet connections. I copy from that page:

The GParted LiveCD is available as a large ISO file that may be difficult for some people to download and burn to CD. Since some online shops provide GParted Live on CD, you might decide to order it and receive the disk by postal mail. Before ordering a disk, please check that it is the version you want.
These shops are not affiliated with the GParted Project.

GParted livecd works on various filesystems, including ntfs. However it is always highly recommended to take backup of any important files before partitioning operations. In addition, it is advised to read carefully the "GParted manual" in the Documentation page of the GParted site.

Working with partitions is always dangerous. Professionals and very experienced users take even double backup.

class 413,

Thank you for the quick and detailed response.  I'll give the download another try and if that is not successful I'll go to the "Order a Disk" section.  From your reply I should not have further problems.
