Topic: beginner help please

hi i use windows xp pro which version should i use? and do i need to burn it onto a disk before use?

You can use the latest LiveCD version. You need to download the ISO file, check the file integrity (MD5SUM check) and burn it on a cdr (as ISO or image file, not fust as data cd).

It is better to read carefully the "GParted Manual" from the Documentation page
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/documentation.php
to understand how this software works.

Furthermore, it is highly recommended to backup any important files before partitioning operations, because there is always a risk of data loss.
