Topic: Extended Partition missing
Hi,
Not sure if this is the right application for my problem. Brand new additional 1TB drive (windows XP)
NTFS formatted Kdrive=40GB (empty), Ldrive=the rest (about 20GB data was on there). Restarted and L drive disappeared in Explorer. Still shows the 40GB K drive. The file management utility in XP now shows a 1TB healthy drive with no partitions. Restarts, etc. no difference. Have since reinstalled OS on my C drive for other reasons - still no difference. Downloaded trial versions of recovery software and they see the extended partition and all files so all seems to be there. Before I purchase any software seeing if there are more elegant fixes. Can gparted "extend" the K drive so that the content of the disappeared L drive shows? Or other suggestions welcome. Thanks, couldn't find a similar problem in the forums.
