Topic: Disaster resizing partition

Hi,
I used gparted live cd (latest version) to resize my hard drive partition. I´d like to size down the partion with ubuntu and size up the partition with  my data... The process size down the root partion and freeze when moving left the data partition so I lost all my data....

I'm not a linux expert user... there is a way to try to recover my data?

Plz help me!

Re: Disaster resizing partition

If this happened during operations (not just before), I'm afraid it can be serious. There are many reasons that can cause problems, that's why it is always good (and marked in the GParted site) to take backup of important files before anypartitioning operation.

You could try to use the testdisk / photorec live cd. The first program looks for lost partitions. The second one looks on the drive for specific file types.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***
